2023 Street Improvements

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS:

2023 STREET IMPROVEMENTS

CITY OF LAKE SHORE

The 2023 Street Improvements Project is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of July 10th, 2023. The roads scheduled for construction include Little John Road, Nottingham Road, Waseya Woods Drive, Bent Arrow Road, and Fernmont Road.

Project Location and Description

Little John Road

The Project Area includes Little John Road from County Road 77 south west to where the road becomes Nottingham Road, approximately 0.5 miles. This portion of the project consists of a full depth pavement reclamation, aggregate base, bituminous paving, mailbox support replacements, bituminous curb in selected areas, and turf restoration.

Nottingham Road

The Project Area includes Nottingham Road from where Little John Road becomes Nottingham Road, south to where the road becomes gravel, just south of the intersection of Lincoln Green Road and Nottingham Road, approximately 0.6 miles. This portion of the project consists of a full depth pavement reclamation, aggregate base, bituminous paving, mailbox support replacements, and turf restoration.

Fernmont Road

The Project Area includes Fernmont Road from County Road 77 to the end of the city-maintained portion of the road, approximately 0.6 miles. This portion of the project consists of a bituminous pavement overlay and mailbox support replacements.

Waseya Woods Drive

The Project Area includes Waseya Woods Drive in its entirety, approximately 0.3 miles. This portion of the project consists of a bituminous pavement overlay and mailbox support replacements.

Bent Arrow Road

The Project Area includes Bent Arrow Drive in its entirety, approximately 0.2 miles. This portion of the project consists of a bituminous pavement overlay and mailbox support replacements.

This project includes replacing existing mailbox supports with new swing-away supports like those you see on State, County, and other City right-of-way. These supports minimize damage due to vehicle impacts and snowplowing operations. Your existing mailbox will be removed from the existing post support and re-installed on the new support. If you have a pre-molded one-piece plastic style mailbox, or other style of box that cannot be transferred to the new post support, then a standard sized metal mailbox will be furnished and installed on the new support. If newspaper boxes are attached to the existing mailbox or support, they will be transferred from the old support to the new support.
