Permit to Carry Renewals
A Permit to Carry is valid for five years. The expiration date is stamped on the permit. Permit holders will NOT receive notification of an expiring permit. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to be aware of the expiration date, and to go through the renewal process.
This page will provide some guidance for the permit holders that wish to renew their carry permits. Please note, this only applies for those people that have a current FIVE year carry permit, issued by the sheriff.
You may renew your carry permit from 90 days prior to 30 days after the expiration date on your permit.
If an application is received after the 30 day window, it will be considered a new permit, and a fee of $100 will be required.
If you apply for a renewal permit after the expiration date on your permit, you can not legally carry until your new permit is issued.
To renew your Permit to Carry, you will need to attend a Permit Renewal Course taught by a certified instructor and bring the following with you to the Cass County Sheriff's Office:
*Copy of your concealed carry training certificate. This training MUST be within the past twelve (12) calendar months, of permit renewal application date.
*Copy of your driver's license (both sides).
*Copy of your current Permit to Carry.
*Check/money order/cash for $75.00
*Completed carry renewal permit application.
Once the renewal process is complete, your carry permit will be valid for another FIVE years.
If you have any questions concerning the renewal process, please contact the Cass Co. Sheriff's Office at 218-547-1424.
