Firearms Permit to Carry Information

Permits to Carry are good for five years and cost $100 for Cass County residents.

A permit to carry certification course is required for the carry permit.

You can download the application for a Permit to Carry Application below or pick one up at the Cass County Sheriff's Office in Walker. IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: The permit to carry application must be signed at the Cass County Sheriff's Office ONLY.  

 

 

  *Completed application for the MN Firearm Application Permit to Carry a Pistol.

  *Copy of your concealed carry training certificate. This training MUST be within the past twelve (12) calendar months, of permit renewal application date. Ensure you understand this, this is very important.

  *Copy of your driver's license.

  *Check/money order/cash for $100.00

  *Completed carry renewal permit application.

Once the renewal process is complete, your carry permit will be valid for another FIVE years.

NOTE: A Permit to Carry is valid for five years. The expiration date is stamped on the permit. Permit holders will NOT receive notification of an expiring permit. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to be aware of the expiration date, and to go through the renewal process

A permit will be processed within a week from the time you make the application. A criminal history is run on each application. A conviction for certain crimes can be cause for denial of a permit. In order to receive a permit to carry, you must not be prohibited from possessing a firearm.

To obtain your Permit to Carry, you will need to attend a Concealed Carry Training Course taught by a certified instructor and bring the following with you to the Cass County Sheriff's Office:
